A Glamorous Affair
I just loved this wedding. Leslie couldn’t have been a more laid back, confident bride. As a result she got everything she dreamed of with a crew of professional vendors that knew just how to bring her vision together. You have to check out Sandra’s blog to see more fabulous shots. Ofcourse, the cupcake tower isn’t too shabby…one of our masterpieces if I may brag a bit. And to top it off….a cake topper by Chic Sparkles
A few of my favorites
These wedding cakes are so fun to make. I really love cakes with personality. The top left cake is courtesy of Lee Brubaker Photography, she captured this image for us at the Wedding Salon in Beverly Hills. This cake is an Audrey Hepburn inspired original.
Bottom left cake was a wedding cake I made for a wedding at Orcutt Ranch. Photography by Christine Farrah. This cake was made with special care for a sweet couple that wanted simple elegance. Fresh fruits are sugar coated and placed in the corners of this square buttercream wedding cake
The middle and largest cake is a truly stunning wedding cake for a stunning bride. The reception took place at Westlake Village Inn. Photograph courtesy of myself (I snap a few great shots once in awhile). This is a fondant covered madhatter style cake with damask pattern going all the way around. Very Chic!!
Top right is a wedding cake made for a lovely couple that wed at The Spanish Hills Country Club. Photo courtesy of Skye Blu Photography. This cake is fondant
Bottom right is courtesy of Chelsea Elizabeth for a wedding at Camarillo Ranch. The broche and brown ribbon complimented the brides wedding dress.
I greatly appreciate when photographers send pictures of cakes that we have done. THANK YOU!!!!!
Showcase Vendor of the Week
Janet Snyder, Founder of Dance Ten has been dancing since she could tie her own shoes. Janet can teach anyone to glide around the dance floor…this is most important for the BIG DAY. On your Wedding Day even the most talented of dancers can get a bit nervous. Let Dance Ten help you match your first song to your first dance steps. If you don’t have time to attend one of her many locations, you can order her dance instruction video.
Last Wednesday night, I had a great time sipping champagne, enjoying crepes, for the grand opening of Veronique Events, Los Angeles location. Mimi Teller was snapping shots of guests and models. All the photos above are courtesy of Mimi Teller.
Veronique went all out on decor to create a very chic lounge feel. Draped in white fabric, with wonderful chandeliers hanging above. Oliver Ifergan Atelier was responsible for the look of the gorgeous models who impressed us in the designs of Amal of Beverly Hills. Each dress was more amazing than the next. Models showed off beautiful bridesmaids dressess that were so stunning and detailed. Amal has a great eye for detail and womens fashion.
Guests enjoyed the chocolate delights of Gourmandise along with cupcakes from A Sweet Design. We all enjoyed the cappuccino’s from Lattes on Location courtesy of Maria Dumas. I had two!!!
Lee Brubaker Photography
Lee Brubaker spent the morning with the staff of A Sweet Design capturing some of our cake orders for the day along with some display cakes. We had a blast. She was snapping away even while we were in the middle of piping on a cake. There was no stopping Lee, she even climbed up on a chair to capture the cake from a different view. One client who came to pick up her cake during the photo shoot said “She enoyed Lee’s photo style and hadn’t seen a photographer put so much passion into each shot before”.

Happy Holidays
Happy Holidays!! Despite the grinch inside of me, I really like this time of year for all the baking and festivities and junk like that. I think it was more fun when I was a kid in school and looked forward to two weeks of doing nothing. Anybody own a time machine?
I’m actually done for the day and plan to head out for some window shopping to appreciate all the great decorations. I’d love to hear what you love most about this time of year!!
Halloween Treats
I just love this time of year. The weather gets a bit cooler and mood tends to shift to a more festive one. It starts out with scary halloween treats, thanksgiving pies and ends with a buttery chocolaty yule log for Christmas. I just love the holidays but they go by too darn fast.
We had some great fun making these spooky treats
Here we did a spooky cemetery scene for Mary Sushinski of Occasions.
This cute kid themed cake was made for the younger ghouls. The pumpkins are made of marzipan. The head stones and ghosts are made of fondant.
